Phoebe and Eleni explore how they live within big life transitions, ways they work with transitions (both big and small), and how to create a more positive and intentional relationship with transition.

Notes

  • Being present through big life transitions
  • Eleni shares her family’s current big transition and how everyone is coping
  • During transitions, children can be a barometer of how the family is doing as a whole
  • Phoebe shares how baths with salts can help her to transition from her day to night time
  • Transitions, whether big life changes or the small transitions we experience throughout the day, are opportunities to notice how we sit with in-between times
  • How doing new things can be a transition to new ways of being
  • Phoebe shares her experience with InterPlay and how she’s experiencing this new exploration as connected and similar to the dreamworld
  • Transitions are multidimensional, honoring the space between the old and new, full of periods of self discovery, family discovery and dynamics discovery
  • Transitions can free our minds of expectations
  • When transitions feel difficult our urge may be to make something happen or to create a distraction instead of waiting to see what wants to show up
  • If a transition makes us feel uncertain, we may find ourselves inadvertently passing on that feeling to our kids or other people in our life. It’s always a good reminder to check to see if we’re transgressing into someone’s space.
  • Phoebe shares how she puts up a gauge or barometer in her mind’s eye to find out how much change she’s integrated from the transition she’s experiencing. She also determines if there’s any fear in her body that’s blocking her from integrating the new to 100%
  • There can be many reasons that a change is not yet fully integrated, including right timing. Sometimes change just takes the time it’s going to take.
